Machine Tool Heritage Experience

ME Museoa

Mission Challenge.

  • Date: March 2026
  • Client: ME Museoa
  • Location: Elgoibar, España

The challenge is to integrate digital experiences that complement the physical exhibition at the Elgoibar Machine Tool Museum.

This first phase will lay a scalable technical foundation for incorporating new experiences and future partnerships without having to rebuild the infrastructure.

Touch down.

Scott & Irwin aims to introduce visitors to the museum’s history and mission through a large multimedia wall that combines a timeline, a 3D viewer and ‘Around The Globe’, linking this content visually and conceptually to the actual machines on display in the gallery.

All the content will be brought together in a single application via the Corporate Presentation Module, which acts as a central access and control point.

The system must be designed to operate 24/7 with automatic start-up, remote monitoring and ‘hot-swap’ maintenance, enabling content to be updated autonomously.

Scope of the impact.

Updating the museum’s content by combining real machines with a digital tour of the history of machine tools in the region, using a touch-based, intuitive, multilingual interface that features a “demo” mode that runs in a loop when no one is interacting with it.

This renews and complements the presentation of the most significant moments in the development of Gipuzkoa’s steel industry by introducing the pioneers who made it possible.

The sections must be easily expandable and updatable for future phases. The system must be easily updatable by the in-house team and provide usage analytics to help optimize the museum’s narrative.
